Getting
There: From Gunnison,
CO, take Hwy 149 approx. 55
miles south.
Gunnison has flights. From Creede, CO, take Hwy 149 approx.
55 miles north. Cinnamon and Engineer passes are also
options
if you are coming from Silverton or Ouray and have 4WD,
but note that they are no faster than going around on the
highway (but even more scenic!). If coming from Montrose, both the Lake City Cutoff and the Sapinero Mesa Cutoff are passable in regular cars, and will save you a little time. They can be muddy after a rain though!
Lodging: Make reservations
early! Check out our sponsor page for links to local lodging

you're coming for the 50), or check the Chamber of Commerce
website at www.lakecity.com or call at 800-569-1874. Hall Realty has vacation home rentals.
-

Showers can be had at T-Bears campground, 5 blocks north
of the finish line on Bluff Street and 7th.
